Patrick Rea graduated from the University of Kansas in December 2002. Patrick received a degree in film with a minor in communications. A native Nebraskan, Patrick has been making films for the last eight years. In 2001, Rea collaborated with Ryan Jones on a collection of short films and formed their company, SenoReality Pictures.

Two of SenoReality’s student films were winners in the Fangoria’s Blood Drive contest. The DVD, hosted by Rob Zombie was released nationally in 2004 through Koch Entertainment. Several other student shorts directed by Rea have been released on both “Hollywood Scarefest” DVDs, distributed by Vanguard Cinema.

Since 2004, Rea has directed a over twenty short films that have screened at festivals such as Palm Beach International Film Festival, Shriekfest LA, Estes Park Film Festival, The New York City Horror Film Festival, Eerie Horror Film Festival and Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors. These shorts have also screened on FangoriaTV, Horror Channel.com and DreadCentral.com. SenoReality’s first feature film “The Empty Acre” was completed in 2006 and premiered at the Kansas International Film Festival. The film has received positive reviews from critics and was released on DVD from Cinema Epoch in 2007. That same year, a collection of shorts directed by Rea were released on an anthology DVD titled “Heartland Horrors” from Elite Entertainment.

Rea’s most recent shorts “Woman’s Intuition”, “Paint Shaker” “Next Caller”, “Now That You’re Dead”, “Misfortune Smiles” and “Mrs. Brumett’s Garden” have also garnered acclaim and are currently on the festival circuit. In the summer of 2008, “Woman’s Intuition” won a Regional Emmy Award. In 2009, his short film “Now That You’re Dead” was nominated for Regional Emmy. In 2009, Rea is currently working on his second feature, “Nailbiter”.
